Happy New Year to you all! I hope you are all recovered from the festive season and your resolutions aren't challenging you too much! My final business task of 2019 was to make the last donation of the year to Care4Calais from sales of my Lucky Dip bags on Etsy. The total for December was a fantastic £137, which included a very kind donation from my lovely Liverpool stockists The Nest. This brought the total for the year up to a really incredible £317!! I am absolutely blown away by what we've achieved, and never imagined we could raise that much money. To carry on the good work, and to share the love around a little bit, I've decided to choose a new charity to support for 2020. Staying in a similar vein (with the recent political outcome in the U.K. and the actions of the U.S. in the Middle East I can only see the refugee and migrant situation getting worse) I'll be donating 50% from the sale of each Lucy Dip bag to Refugee Community Kitchen.
RCK do great work both in the U.K with their food outreach in London for homeless people, a large number of whom are refugees, and across northern France serving hot meals to displaced people and providing a safe space for them to congregate and access legal, medical and safeguarding services.
If you'd like to help with my fundraising efforts head to my Etsy shop here. I'll be adding new items to the Lucky Dip collection all the time so who knows what you'll get!
